In addition to Kensilver, Moline, Mbukinya, Oromats, and Wamasaa, the government has revoked the licenses of 64 matatu saccos.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) issued the notice on Thursday, which cautioned that police are authorized to seize and impound vehicles discovered on the road.
Additionally, the agency advised the general public against boarding the vehicles.
"To prevent inconveniences, the general public is hereby advised against boarding vehicles associated with these Saccos/companies." "In accordance with the circular, the National Police Service (NPS) has been instructed to seize vehicles owned by the Saccos/companies that were discovered operating after their licenses were revoked," NTSA stated.
The directive will have a significant impact on commuters, as it will apply to both long-distance and short-distance travelers traversing various routes throughout the nation.
Moline will impact passengers traveling on the Nairobi to Nakuru, Eldoret, Kitale, Kericho, Kisumu, and Busia routes, whereas Kensilver serves the Nairobi, Maua, Embu, and Meru routes.
The Kiambu United Travellers ban will impact the Kirigiti, Kiambu, and Thindigua routes within the Nairobi metropolitan area. Following the revocation of Southleigh Sacco's license, travelers along the route Kariokor, Juja Road, Ginoma, and Eastleigh will be required to find alternative saccos.
